Joan Martí-Carreras joins Nano1Health as postdoctoral researcher

Nano1Health is pleased to announce the incorporation of Joan Martí Carreras as a postdoctoral researcher from March 1, 2022.

Joan has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven (Belgium) and is one of the talent recruits with the Neotec grant. His specialties are virology (mainly human pathogens), bioinformatics, and epidemic/pandemic control. Joan has extensive experience in Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing to obtain viral genomes and analyze their variation in a functional, phylogenetic and epidemiological context. It is part of a European consortium (Honours) to train professionals and centers for the rapid response of new emerging pathogens.

His experience and international contacts are a fundamental contribution to the project and the company.
